Yeah, this is as close to "beating my b!*tch" as it gets. I took some hard hits this morning, although no apparent damage, so all is well. We started out with 7 rigs. One quickly bailed after immediately melting the air hose for his rear locker. Things were going pretty well for the 6 of us except for overheating issues with Joe's GMC Jimmy. No big deal, it was a good chance to just get out and chill every once in a while. Maybe chill isn't the right word... it was pretty hot.
We ran Appetizer, Tax Collector, and Firebird. The old flattened Pontiac Firebird at the end of the trail is gone... normally I like it when things are cleaned up, but that was kind of a historical symbol, heh. Somewhere along Firebird, Joe busted the frame on the Jimmy. Pretty bad stuff. We tried to limp back to the pavement but didn't get very far since he could not steer left. After some hasty trail repairs using some ratchet straps to secure the steering box, we slowly managed to get the Jimmy back down.

Here is where Tim busted the hose in his blue Pickup. Poor guy wasn't with us more than 30 minutes.

Steve comes through a narrow spot on Tax Collector. Nice 6" Fabtech lift.

Jim in his Toyota FJ and Nate with 2000 Taco roll through Firebird

Steve makes his way down a ledge with only minor tail scraping.

Joe finishes Firebird with his frame torn and wobbling.

Dead in the water. At least we figured out a temporary mickey-mouse fix. Leaving it there means probably coming back to a stripped hunk of metal.
Overall I had a good time and met some nice people. Hopefully you can get your rig trail worthy again Joe... good luck. Although I prefer 4x4 exploration, beating the hell outta my truck crawling down washes has its highlights. Not something I want to do everyday though. I'll get you out to the Tanks someday Ryan.
