08-02-2008 Woodpecker Trail – Florence Junction

We took the Woodpecker trail to the Woodpecker mine on Saturday. Not as many wheelers showed up, but we were under a heat advisory for the day and some were just scared. The attendees included:

• Ryan (Trail boss)

• Ruby Can (and Kids)

• Pirate Queen (and Kids)

• Damion

There were some temporary delays due to Ruby Can being all stock, but I was very impressed with how good he did. The area was ravaged and washed out creating a whole new level of difficulty.

Aaahem...who was scared?  

 We weren't skerred.

I'll have to admit that we did better than I thought we would considering the start was a good indication of what was to come. Plenty of obstacles and challenges and definitely slow moving along the trail. My Hi-Lift jack paid itself off on this run, and was a big help in getting Ruby off that little rock that I hung her up on. It was just a little one "I SWEAR". Had a great time even though it was pretty hot outside, and having to put the heater on high every now and then to keep Ruby from overheating due to her thermostat locking up didn't keep us from finishing the run. Thanks Ryan for a good day out and for trail bossing again. DD still says "BAD, BAD RYAN"
