    Re: Chivo Falls, Tucson, AZ

Went to Chivo Falls here in Tucson today.  We had a great time, and didn't break anything (thankfully).  We took our Golden Retiever(Wrangler), and our Polaris RZR(which Lisa drove), she had a good time, and is getting more confident in its abilities off-roading.  We met up with another goup of guys out there, who had some trail rigs that they didn't mind beating up, so they showed us what they could do on the much tougher lines.  There was only one broken driveshaft during the day.  Wrangler got to swim in the base of the falls with another dog and he loved it.  I will try and post the pictures here: http://s253.photobucket.com/albums/hh80/06RubicAn/

That looks pretty cool. Do the falls run all year long?

The falls run for a few days to a week after rain or snow in the mountains around Tucson.  It can be spectacular right after a rain storm, but very dangerous as well.

I am doing the White Tanks with AZTacoma this Sunday so couldn't make it. I think almost all of us will be there. Then the next weekend we are running Pyeatt Draw. A couple of us are camping on Saturday night then we will meeting the rest of the group for a  Sunday  run.

The second weekend in September would be perfect for me. Also you are welcome to come wheeling on both trails we have planned for the next two weekends.

I was thinking of the 23rd, this Saturday. Can you still make it? If not I may do the White tanks so Chris is not left hangin.

     Ryan,

This Saturday sounds great, Lisa and her sister want to go an bring our Polaris RZR.  Let me know when you think you might want to start.  I can give the address to a Circle K store on Tanque Verde rd, that we can meet at.  Or you can give me a call 520-245-2295

I wish I could! I have seriously thought of dumping the White Tanks to wheel with you guys Saturday... but I'm sorta committed. As much as I really prefer to do Chivo, I planned this trip and now a bunch of people are coming, and it would look pretty dumb if I backed out now. Not my style.

I'll get down there someday. But I still think Ryan should do BOTH! He's hardcore!

Great, it will be at least me and my girlfriend and maybe my friend Keith.

Assuming the address to the Circle K is 11271 E Tanque Verde Rd, it will take us about two hours to get there. Is 9:00am too late to meet up? We can leave earlier, but its going to be a tough one. Just let me know.

9:00 am sounds great, I did have the address to the circle K a bit wrong, you got it though.  Take your time and call my cell if you are running late (520-245-2295), We'll wait for you no matter.
