We're there. We might be bringing along our oldest (20 years old) as he will be shipping out to Fort Knox, Kentucky on Tuesday for basic training in the Army. See you all there.

Basic training is a strange experience... make sure he gets lots of letters. His Drill Sgts will probably make him push for the letters but there's nothing like letters while in BCT.

    Have fun on Woodpecker!

She'd reply back but she can't get out of bed due to being tossed around and beat up from riding in the back of Ruby. All she can say is "BAD, BAD RYAN".

BTW - since we didn't have a camera with us yesterday, can you and Damion e-mail some pics of our adventure on the trail?

I am sorry to hear about DD. I took a few pictures and Damion took quite a few. I will post them along with the video in the Arizona Backcountry forum.

This trail was a great time. I hope you forgive me for Ruby's battle scars.

Don't worry about the battle scars - thats what skid plates are for. I'll be swaping out the thermostat in the next few days and doing a complete flush of the radiator system. We didn't have any more problems after getting off the trail. Consensus was that it would stick when I was pushing Ruby through a few of the obstacles but it would rectify itself pretty quick. Overall - I think we did good even with the one hang-up on that little rock you made me drive over. As for DD - wahhhhhhhh, she'll get over it, and we'll probably be behind the wheel on one of the future runs. But she is getting more set on the idea of Ruby getting a lift and bigger tires. "YEA"...... we'll see how soon that happens. Thanks Damion for coming along and playing videographer on our trek.

     All,

Always enjoy getting out with the family.  I'm just down in the dumps. My oldest leaves for boot camp in the morning... Hard to let go.  Ryan thanks for a great last outing with my entire family for a while.  It's hell getting old, just can't recover from all of the bumps as quick as I used too.  Ruby's back seat just is not the same as sitting in the front.  I need a 4 door with a little leg room, hehehe. ( & JD thinks he is going to get a lift kit first, hmmmmm)  OK, I'm done whining for now!

Damion & Ryan thanks for keeping a record of the fun that we had.  Always fun to show the people at work and it just adds to the mystic that I really am NUTS!
