    New to AZ Trailways

Hello all,   My name is Craig and I just recently found this site.  I have been in Tucson since 2003.  I purchased a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in late 06.  Ever since I have been addicted to modifying it and exploring AZ trails and sites.  My fiance Lisa, enjoys on most occasions getting out on the trails as well.  I have been looking for people or groups to get out on the trails with.  Anyone interested in getting out, drop me a note.

    Welcome Craig.

I think trips are slowing down due to the heat. I see that AzTacoma, Ryan and Ruby have a trip planned later next month…

Hope to see you on the trails.

    Welcome Craig!

Aside from the trail mentioned I would like to get something else put together shortly. Have you hit any trails in the Tucson area? Any suggestions on something in the higher/cooler elevation?

Do you have a picture of your Rubicon?

     Hi Ryan,

I have done Chivo falls several times and Gardner canyon once.  Other than that I haven't done much here in Tucson.  I am always looking for someone to hit the trail with.  I work 8 days on and 6 days off, so I usually have the time to hit a trail or two.  How about you?

Here is a pic shortly after I did my lift on Mt. Lemmon. What about you?  http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/hh80/06RubicAn/MtLemmon08013.jpg

I am an 8 to 5-ver Monday through Friday so the weekends always work best for me. The only trail I have taken in your area is the (Charouleau Gap Trail).

I have heard about Gardner Canyon Rd and Granite Mountain. Is this the same area? If so I would like to plan a day trip out there. Just let me know if you can do a weekend run. I assume it will be hot, but thats why we have AC.

I am running an 03 TJ X with a 4in Teraflex, ARB lockers F&R. You can view my upgrade blog by clicking here.

Most of our users are Jeep & Taco's and we run trails with varying levels of difficulty. We're based on exploration and not just hard core trails.

Let me know what days work for you if you're interested in doing the Gardner Canyon again. If nt we can hook up on another planned trail.

     Ryan,

It looks like you have done some good stuff to yours.  I am still a work in progress ( ar'nt we all?).  I am up for a trail this weekend end if you can work it.  Not sure what Gardner canyon will be like with the Monsoons here.  Can be wet, I really don't think I want to try and float my Rubi.  But you never know till you try.  Also Chivo falls would probably be cool with the recent rain.  I  wouldn't mind doing that one again.  Let me know what you think.  You can e-mail me at cwilson96@cox.net.

Would a full size truck beable to function at either of those locations?

Its taken me a while to get the Jeep to this point, but love my hobby more then the little bit of money I earn :) And yes, its always a work in progress...

I cant go this weekend, but can do next weekend or after. Chivo Falls sounds fine to me, I have never been and I am sure we can get a few others to go.

The only weekend I cant do in July is the weekend of the 19, We will be doing Harquahala. Your more than welcome to come along as well.

Make a post about Chivo Falls or Gardenr in the Suggest a trail forum (http://arizonatrailways.com/cs/forums/34.aspx) and lets get a game plan going from there.

Wild Cat,  Sorry I took so long to reply, I didn't see your question.  To answer, yes, a full size truck with good ground clearance and a paint job you don't mind getting AZ pinstripping on, will go on just about all of the trails downs here.  Let me know if you are up for a run.
