    Newbie, Went to Reymert today

Hi all, like your site and the forums.  My name is John and I live in Queen Creek (or as we likr to call it Eastern California).  The first time I went to Reymert was several years ago.  There was a sign posted that this site was a federally protected ghost town and the antiquity laws applied. You were just supposed too look and take photos, not to disturb anything.  The second time I went there the sign was shot to pieces and laying on the ground, so much for signs :).

Today we found 11 stone ruins in the area, some on a bench between the smelters and Reymert wash and some more across Reymert wash from the smelters.  Also found lots of old cast iron pieces and some broken stoneware, colored glass and old tin cans.  You can also find pottery sherds on the opposite side of the smelters.

Below is a link to Photobucket of some of the pics I took today.  Be Careful Out There and Have Fun.............John

Hi John, great pics. Ive also seen those footings around the smelters. Not sure if its the actual " townsite". Weve had many discussions about that. Id like to take another trip up there soon. Welcome!

Hi John and welcome to the site. If what you and AZTacoma are saying it true then the town site is right next to the smelter. It makes sense, but I figured it was further down the wash.

    Thanks for your insight.
