Alright - I submitted the paperwork for the time off and hopefully my Supervisor will come through and OK it. He said that it really shouldn't be an issue, but sometimes I wonder about the people and company that I work for. I'm still up for making the plans and having everything ready to pull out of Phoenix and head to cooler high country.

We need to make the plans ASAP. Time is running out. I have a set of contingency plans but would like to collaborate with you two.

IN THE MEAN TIME, Do you want to take the Broken Arrow Trail in Sedona this weekend. Brian and I are going and he is bringing his family. You mentioned that you wanted to go so if you can fit it in your schedule let me know.

AZTacoma, you mentioned a meeting at your house??? Lets get the ball rolling.

I'd love to do Broken Arrow this weekend but unfortunately I have to work.

I have Tuesdays and Wednesdays off this month. Yea, I know that sucks. Such is my work schedule. Throw out some dates as I can meet in the evenings around 7:30pm. Thursdays and Fridays are my late nights and I don't even get off work until about 9:30pm.

It sounds like Tuesday or Wednesday might be best. I'll be off work around 5pm (weekends anytime are good for me also). We can meet at my place if you want. Or, we can meet up anywhere else... whatever's easiest. I have a very good map of the Az Strip, and I can show you the route I was toying with for this trip. I also have a topo program that I will use to print close-in maps of key areas of interest.

What kind of planning are we looking at? Maybe we can arrange the basics by comp or phone, and go from there.

(oh BTW Ryan, I sent you an email -maybe it went into your spam file?- with a word doc attached. Did you get it?)

Your place is fine, it would have to be after work for me (5:00 PM). Or we can doing the planning over the phone (480) 620-9913. You both seem to know where to go and I have no idea. I trust your judgment as far as what to see when we get there.

I have the complete topo software is extremely high detail that I can route plan and download into my GPS, but it is hard mount. If you have a hand held that would be good too.

I did NOT get the word doc and have unblocked you as spam, but you must keep getting blocked. Send it to info {at} aztrailways.com.

    Thanks.

EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY STILL A GO ????

I'm ready to roll - all I gotta do is load up and head north. We're still meeting up at Carefree Highway and I-17 at 6:30am? Are there any changes in the game plan since we all met the other night?

Definitely a big GO, although the exact, original plan is tentative.

I know the north Kaibab National Forest is closed. This will not affect the original plan in any way.

What we will need to see in the next day or two is whether the Grand Canyon National Park north rim is closed. I don't think it will, but you never know. I have never heard of a national park closing for precaution.

If for the some reason it does close, it will change things slightly the first day and second day morning. No biggie. We'll check out Lee's Ferry (since we're passing by anyway) and add Kanab Point ( a really awesome, remote overlook). Too easy.

I'm still good for 0630, Carefree Hwy/I-17. The loop from Fredonia will cover about 120 miles (original plan) or about 150 miles (plan B). With Ryan bringing his extra tank and my 2.5 gallon backup, you should be good. I get about 300 miles per fillup with that kind of driving.

My big tank setup is missing parts, so we'll have to bring the regular small propane tanks. I'll bring 4.

    I'm ready to go!

I realized that I have a 6.6 gallon gas can that I use with my quads so I will be bringing it along as well. I'll also be bringing along about 2.5 gallons of fresh water and 5 gallons of tap water as a backup. If you want to know what the weather will be like check out these web addresses:

I talked with AZTacoma and he said that the long loop that we were concerned about was around 125 miles so we should be find, but I always like to be prepared.

The work on my Jeep is done and the only thing I have left to do is some shopping. I CANT WAIT! ONLY ONE DAY OF HEAT LEFT!

Definitely one hell of a good time. Great place to visit and explore and the company was great. AZTacoma - nice job planning. Thanks again to both of you for showing me and my son a great time. Sorry we had to bail a day early and thanks for putting up with me as long as you two did. A trip that I will never forget.

Yeah, thanks for the trip planning AZTacoma, we were able to see a lot of different terrain within the short time we were there.

I am still going through the photos (over 5GB) and will upload to the site tomorrow so it should be finished by Monday. When I do the trip write-up please feel free to add your viewpoint.
