06-02-2007 Wickenburg Mountains to Cown King

We started off from Wickenburg Friday night and Brian’s Optima battery started acting up again (Overheating) so we ended up camping near the Camp B Mine. The next day decided to wheel all the way to Crown King. It was the longest distance I have traveled in one weekend and it kicked my a**.

I would like to take the trail again as we missed the UFO Mine site, Bradshaw’s Grave, and Constellation city. I did get to explore the Copperopolis mine area, but could not see a town site. Despite missing most of the features I came to see, there was a lot of diverse terrain and views that made the trip worth it. As for the difficulty, some of it will require careful tire placement and you have the lockers so I would not see any reason why you couldn’t make it round trip (Not going to Crown King of course).

If you are still planning on taking the trail on the 16th I am game . I would prefer to make it a day trip though and see the three features I missed.

    Let me know...

Here are some of the photos from our trip:

Oh ps, I will post some of the photos we took tomorrow.

I should be able to make time available that weekend. I'm going back east for some training for a few days, but I"ll be back before that weekend and will be ready to relax and do some explore'n. When you say a day trip do you mean (leave am and back pm that day) or (leave am and back am the next day)?
