    I'm new to Arizona Trails

    Hi all,

My name is Peter.  I'm thinking of buying the new 07' Jeep Rubicon or the new 07' Toyota Tundra.  I plan on using it for 4x4ing for obvious reasons.  I also have a boat (I'm thinking of selling to buy a pop up trailer).  My question is, do any of you know if you can tow with a jeep and if you can, will it cause damage?  I've never really drove four wheel drive but it seems exciting, and I'm sure quite adventurous.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Any advise would be appreciated.

Well Duh, go for the rubi! Otherwise, with the cost of a Tundra, the peter is really going to go in ya! With no dinner, kiss or thank you. You may get a smile from the toyota dealer, but you will still walk away with a sore butt hole!

For towing: With the 4.10 Axle Ratio You Can Tow 3500 lbs. Tongue weight is also an important consideration. The recommended tongue weight is between 10 & 15% of the trailer weight. The maximum tongue weight on Class III (The bumper ball) is limited to 500 lbs, and Class IV (The receiver hitch) to 1200 lbs.

If you can afford it, get both! After all, noting exceeds like excess.

I don't know about Peter, but I am going with the new JK Rubi unlimited.  Hey Peter, what did you decide?

Did you get the new JK yet?? If yes, what do you think of it? I am wondering how the long wheelbase does! Mike.

I did get the JK, and thanks for asking Mike.  I love it, it is everything and more I thought it would be.  So far I have a 4" L/A Rancho lift, 35" Mickey Thompson Baja Claws on 16" Crager Soft 8's.  I have the Shrockworks front stubby bumper, rock sliders, and LOD rear bumper and tire carrier on order.  As for the longer wheelbase, I will be testing it next week at the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab.  I'll let you know.  Thanks!

The log wheelbase should be great on most of what Moab has to offer from what I have heard. Never been there, but would give my left testical for the opportunity.

We tow a pop up camper with both of our Jeeps...no issues.
